God and God Alone – January 7, 2026

The temptation to please people rather than God typically stems from a desire to be well thought of by those around us, whether friends, family, coworkers, leaders, or people in general. Instead of exalting God, these people-pleasing tendencies exalt other people and our own desires. Living to exalt God alone pleases Him and ultimately serves the best interests of others, whether or not they realize it at the time. What tends to replace God as the center of your life? Keep the eyes of your heart focused on pleasing and exalting God as you lead like Jesus today.

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.” – Deuteronomy 5:6-7

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being the God who loves and saves us. When we’re tempted to please others instead of You, call us back to Jesus’ example of living and leading with a singular focus. We ask this in His name, Amen.
